Joey Gilbert Law: Committed to Fighting on Behalf of Veterans

Joey Gilbert Law is proud to support the brave men and women who have served our country. As military members who have selflessly served and sacrificed, veterans deserve to be treated with the utmost respect and support – especially when they face legal issues unique to their service.

As supporters of U.S. veterans, our Reno attorneys offer a range of services to help former members of our armed services, as well as those who are currently enlisted. Our goals are to help veterans understand their legal rights and provide the representation and resources they need when facing various legal issues:

  • Criminal Defense – Joey Gilbert Law represents military and combat veterans charged with various criminal offenses. These include criminal allegations that may be associated with their service and sacrifices, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and substance abuse, and offenses involving drug crimes, DUI, and more. We fight aggressively on behalf of veterans as they navigate the criminal justice system, advocate for resolutions that protect their rights and futures, and help them explore options for counseling and treatment in lieu of other penalties when appropriate.
  • Personal Injury – Veterans may have faced dangerous circumstances when serving our country, but they also face a number of risks here at home, including those posed by negligent individuals and companies. When veterans suffer preventable injuries as a result of car accidents, defective products, dangerous premises, and other accidents involving negligence, we fight for the justice and compensation they deserve.
  • Family Law – Our legal team provides passionate assistance to individuals, families, and military veterans who need to protect their interests in matters of family law. Because military service can create unique issues when it comes to family law, including those related to divorce and child custody, we make ourselves readily available to discuss the unique issues they face and how we can help guide them through the legal journey ahead.

Our firm’s commitment to serving veterans and providing the legal support they need is driven by Firm Founder Joey Gilbert, who serves as the Chairman of Nevada Veterans for Veterans, a non-profit organization formed by his father, Trauma / flight surgeon, Commander Warren S. Gilbert MD. The organization focuses on providing critical services to veteran men and women lost in the shuffle of overburdened veterans organizations and a lack of support programs.

In the past, while competing as a professional fighter, Mr. Gilbert also volunteered for 3 USO-Tours to visit and support our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. As Chief Executive Officer of Mainstream Partners, a premier cannabis consulting firm, Mr. Gilbert has also advocated for providing veterans with safe and affordable access to medicinal marijuana, while supporting the legislators, elected officials, families, and employers who aid them.

Veterans who have served and sacrificed for our country face many challenges in their daily lives, and have been notoriously underserved – which is why our firm is committed to bridging the gap and helping veterans better understand their rights and available resources. In addition to helping veterans in need of criminal defense, personal injury, and family law services, we also take the time to connect vets who come to us in times of need with other services that can be of benefit to them, including various non-VA legal service providers like Stateside Legal and other Pro Bono resources for veterans.
